I’m THAT Mom.
I’m THAT Mom.
You know the one.
The mom who will absolutely teach her kids accountability, respect, and how to handle their own problems… but will also transform into a feral raccoon with Wi-Fi access if someone intentionally hurts one of her children.
I don’t wake up looking for trouble. I actually prefer peace. I encourage kindness. I preach communication. I believe in handling things like adults.
But the moment one of my kids comes home devastated because someone thought cruelty was a personality trait? Suddenly the universe has to remind me that orange is, in fact, one of my colors.
Being that mom isn’t about fighting everyone’s battles. It’s about making sure my kids know they never fight them alone. It’s standing behind them while they learn to stand up for themselves. It’s being their safe place, their loudest cheerleader, and occasionally the reason someone else’s parent receives a strongly worded message.
The truth is, motherhood unlocked a level of protective instinct I didn’t know existed. Before kids, I could let a lot slide. After kids? My patience has terms and conditions.
I’m not saying I’d go to jail for my kids. I’m just saying prison orange complements my skin tone, and I’d look amazing in a mugshot if the situation called for it. 😏🧡
