House Of Flame And Shadow 🌙 CC3 Review
It’s a bittersweet thing to be all caught up with SJMs work. Im actually happy I did catch up on my own without the height of release. Please be warned I will say some spoilers ahead !
Book 3 picks up immediately after book 2 and I loved every second we had in Prythian. Im obsessed with the mixing of worlds and it felt like even after Bryce going in, and her parents entering/returning, things are happening when you’re not looking. That’s where Sarah’s writing shines for me, that places in her universe are so richly built, you know something is brewing behind the scenes. I did get the Walmart CC3 exclusive edition with a bonus chapter featuring Azriel and Nesta. It gave me the teaser I needed to help keep my patience for ACOTAR6. I miss them a great deal more than I thought.
Now in Midgard, all that went down before Bryce returned was extremely difficult to endure. The torture, the sacrifices, and betrayals were heartaching. As much as I love crossing worlds I felt a bit dissatisfied in this one. I wanted so much more of Lidia and Ruhn. Bryce disappointed me at some point with her miscommunication with Hunt right after they bonded beyond any mates in this universe imo, it came out of nowhere. But just like SJM fashion the last 100 pgs impressed me with Ruhns revenge and crying my eyes out with souls from the afterlife making an appearance. The ending left me in content similar to ACOWAR and although I think the foundation of this series could have been made stronger on its own I love the interconnection and can’t wait to return…Like anytime anywhere anyday now !
