Chocolate Kissed Poundcake
A butter poundcake soaked in a rich chocolate sauce that I made! This was the best I’ve ever tasted! The buttery cake with moist swirls of chocolate in the inside!!
🧈 Poundcake Ingredients
* 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
* 2 cups sugar
* 4 eggs
* 3 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 cup milk
* 1 tbsp vanilla extract
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 1/2 tsp baking powder
🍫 Chocolate Sauce
* 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
* 1/2 cup heavy cream
* 2 tbsp butter
* 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
* 1 tsp vanilla
* Pinch of salt
1. Make the poundcake:
* Preheat oven to 325°F
* Cream butter + sugar until light and fluffy
* Add eggs one at a time
* Mix in vanilla
* In another bowl: flour, salt, baking powder
* Alternate adding flour + milk into batter
* Mix until smooth (don’t overmix)
* Pour into greased bundt pan
* Bake 1 hour 15–25 mins (until toothpick comes out clean)
2. Make the chocolate soak
* In a saucepan (low heat):
melt chocolate chips + heavy cream + butter
* Stir until smooth
* Add condensed milk, vanilla, and salt
* Let it get thick but still pourable
* While cake is still warm, poke holes all over (bottom or top if flipped)
* Slowly pour half the chocolate over it
👉 let it soak in
* Let it sit 10–15 mins
* Then pour the rest on top for that drip finish
