My go-to alternative? A mix of lemon juice, a pinch of sugar, and a tiny bit of salt. It won't be exactly the same, but it gives you that essential acidity. Another option is apple cider vinegar, diluted slightly with water and seasoned with sugar and salt. Just make sure to add it gradually and taste as you go, as the flavor profile is stronger than rice vinegar. It's all about finding what works for you when you're 'Hacking Sushi?' in your own kitchen! Now that you've mastered the rice, what's next? Many of you search for 'sushi rice with seaweed'. This is where the magic truly happens! Once your hacked sushi rice is cooled to room temperature, you're ready to roll. Lay a sheet of nori (seaweed) shiny-side down on your bamboo mat. Dampen your hands slightly to prevent stickiness, then spread a thin, even layer of your sushi rice over about two-thirds of the nori. Leave a small border at the top to seal. Kura Sushi is a great place to eat in Tokyo if you're on a budget. I went to the one in Harajuku and Shinagawa. Just be mindful that the one in Harajuku is packed!! Specially during the weekends but the one in Shinagawa was ok. 💵 Price: ¥150 ~ ¥180 per plate #lemon8travel #conveyorbelts
