With lemon Icing🍋

Ingredients✨

~for the scone~

•1 cup of milk

•3 cups of flour (all purpose)

•1/3 cup granulated sugar

•12 tbsp of cold, grated butter

•2.5 tsp baking powder

•4-5 drops of almond extract

•egg for eggwash (optional)

~for the icing~

•1 cup confectionary sugar

•3 tbs lemon juice (you can add a little more for a thinner consistency if needed)

•1 tsp vanilla extract

•lemon zest (to your hearts content)

Directions✨

>Preheat oven to 400°F & line a baking pan with parchment paper

>combine flour & baking powder (then add grated butter)

>separately, combine milk and sugar. Then add to dry mixture and stir.

>flour a surface and knead the dough out until ingredients are evenly combined

>shape into a circle and cut your wedges (like a pizza)

>move to baking sheet and brush with an eggwash

>bake for about 20 minutes

{while scones are baking}

>whisk together glaze ingredients (confectionary sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract)

>After scones have cooled off, coat with the glaze and wait until it’s stiffened up a bit before you serve it!!

{These will keep well covered up with cling wrap on the counter for a few days! (If they make it that long😉)}
