Today is Day 3 of Hot Yoga 🧘‍♀️

I may have a new healthy fixation.

A couple weeks ago, my roommate asked me if I wanted to go to hot yoga with her (for the millionth time..) I finally caved because I was curious why she wanted me to go. The experience was a 10/10, so here I am.

This is the very start of my hot yoga journey (:

On Day 3, I noticed that the environment’s warmth not only makes the poses more challenging but also incredibly rewarding as it helps loosen my muscles, allowing me to deepen my stretches beyond what I thought possible. One thing I truly appreciate about hot yoga is how it challenges both mind and body. The heat intensifies sweat, which feels detoxifying, and pushes my cardiovascular system, as reflected by an average heart rate of 129 BPM during sessions. This workout helps burn calories effectively—my recent session lasted over an hour with moderate effort, burning over 400 active calories! I also noticed improvements in my flexibility, balance, and mental clarity after each class, which keeps me motivated to continue. Hot yoga isn’t just about physical fitness; it’s a holistic lifestyle that encourages mindfulness, stress relief, and increased energy throughout the day. For anyone new to hot yoga, I recommend staying well-hydrated before and after class to replenish fluids lost through sweating. Wearing breathable, lightweight clothing also makes the experience more comfortable. Listening to your body and progressing at your own pace is key—some poses may feel intense at first but become easier with practice. Overall, hot yoga is quickly becoming a new healthy fixation for me, blending fitness, wellness, and mental peace beautifully. I’m excited to document this journey further and share more insights and tips on sustaining this rewarding yoga lifestyle so stay tuned!

If you want a really good core workout— this is it. I normally do these while I stretch but it’s great for getting the blood flowing, reducing stress and tension, and has many other great health benefits. If you’ve never done yoga, the technical term for what I’m doing is a headstand/Sirsasana.
