It’s not just about the physical exhaustion; the mental fatigue can be just as challenging. Staying focused and maintaining a positive attitude after what feels like an entire workday already can be incredibly tough. So, how do I get through it? I've picked up a few tricks over the years. Hydration is key – I try to keep a water bottle handy and sip throughout both shifts. Snacks are my lifeline; small, healthy bites help keep my energy levels stable without causing a sugar crash. And those vital 'coffee time' moments? They're non-negotiable. Whether it's a quick break with a colleague, clutching one of those Alpine Lanes mugs, or just stepping away for five minutes, these small pauses are crucial for recharging. It’s not just about the caffeine; it’s about that mental reset. Another thing I’ve learned is to pace myself. You can't sprint through 16+ hours. I prioritize tasks, delegate where possible, and remind myself that it's okay to take a moment to breathe.
