I’ll be sharing my fitness journey and what I eat/drink so I can loose those extra lbs. something I struggle with is the weight gain that’s in my face, I haven’t taken a picture in a year because of how self conscious I am about the way I look in pictures! If you have any suggestions for workouts, vitamins and supplements, meal prep ideas, drink recommendations etc. leave them in the comments!!🥳💪#bodytransformation#embracevulnerability#unfiltered#lemon8bookclub#Lemon8Diary#healthylifestyle2024#mealprep#workout#gym#motivation

It’s all part of getting back into shape after a year where things got a little off track.
For glute growth, I've learned it's not just about endless squats. Compound movements like deep squats, Romanian deadlifts, and lunges are crucial, but don't forget those targeted isolation exercises! Hip thrusts, glute kickbacks using cables, and even resistance band work before your main lifts can make a huge difference. I've found that when I 'go with friends,' we push each other harder, making those glute-focused sessions way more effective and fun! Remember to progressively overload – meaning, gradually increase the weight, reps, or sets over time to keep challenging your muscles.
Nutrition plays a massive role too. You can't build muscle without feeding it! I've really upped my protein intake – lean chicken, fish, and lots of plant-based options like lentils and tofu are my go-to. And yes, 'eat good foods' means fueling your body with complex carbs for energy (oats, brown rice, sweet potatoes) and healthy fats (avocado, nuts) for overall health. This is where 'meal prep' becomes my Sunday ritual. Like, seriously, planning out my meals for the week, making sure I have enough protein and veggies, has been a game-changer. Think grilled chicken with roasted sweet potatoes and a big side of greens. It makes sticking to my goals so much easier and prevents those impulse unhealthy choices.
Staying hydrated is another key, and I totally agree with finding a 'fun new drink' to make it exciting. I've been experimenting with different electrolyte drinks or even just sparkling water with lemon before my workouts. Sometimes I'll even swing by 'Whole Foods' to see what new healthy drinks they have – it’s a small treat that keeps me motivated and ensures I'm getting enough fluids, especially on leg day!
And for real, 'take progress pictures!' I used to be so self-conscious, but now I make sure to snap 'mirror selfies' in my 'sports bra and leggings' from the 'side' and 'front' every few weeks. It’s wild how much you can see changes that the scale doesn't always show. Seeing that subtle lift or definition in my glutes keeps me going, even when I feel like giving up. It’s a powerful reminder of how far I’ve come and how hard I'm working. Don't just rely on the scale; notice how your clothes fit and how your strength increases.
Remember what I said about patience? Building strength and sculpting your body, especially your glutes, doesn't happen overnight. It's a journey, a marathon, not a sprint. There will be days you feel amazing and days you just want to skip the gym. But sticking with it, celebrating small victories, and embracing the process – that’s where the real transformation happens. Consistency truly is key. Keep pushing, keep lifting, and keep nourishing your body right. We're in this together!
