Remembering The Why

Remembering the why is important.

2024/10/3 Edited to

... Read moreYou know those days when you just feel stuck, or like you're losing momentum? I totally get it. For a long time, I struggled with staying consistent, especially when challenges popped up or things got a bit boring. It was easy to lose sight of the initial excitement I had for a project or a new habit. Then, I stumbled upon the profound power of 'remembering why you started.' It's not just a catchy phrase you see on a letter board; it's the very core of your motivation, your purpose, your ultimate driving force. Your 'why' is that deep-seated reason, your passion, your core belief that fuels your actions even when the going gets tough. It’s what connects your daily tasks to your long-term vision, giving everything meaning. So, how do you uncover your why? It's a journey of self-reflection, and it's incredibly rewarding. Start by asking yourself some powerful questions: What truly excites you? What problems do you genuinely want to solve, either for yourself or for others? What kind of impact do you want to make on the world around you? Think about moments when you felt most alive, most purposeful – what were you doing? Who were you with? Journaling can be an incredibly helpful tool here. Don't rush the process; let the answers surface naturally, perhaps over several days or weeks. Your 'why' might evolve, and that's perfectly okay. Once you've identified your 'why,' the next crucial step is to keep it front and center in your mind. For me, it's all about creating visual reminders – much like that inspiring letter board saying 'REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED.' Maybe it's a powerful quote on your desk, a photo that vividly represents your ultimate goal, or even a small, meaningful token like a vintage camera that sparks creativity, or a globe that reminds you of bigger aspirations and dreams. I even have little red heart-shaped notes with 'love' written on them scattered around my space, because a huge part of my 'why' is deeply connected to love, connection, and spreading positivity. These little anchors help bring me back to my purpose instantly. When you consistently connect back to your 'why,' those tough days don't feel so overwhelming. It provides incredible clarity, helps you make better decisions aligned with your true self, and instantly reignites your passion when it starts to flicker. It’s like having an internal compass guiding you through every challenge and celebration, ensuring you stay true to your path. So, if you're feeling a bit lost or unmotivated, take a moment. Pause. And truly ask yourself: 'What's your why?' You might be surprised by the clarity and strength it brings to your entire journey.
