Sometimes the word radical makes us think of something extreme or disruptive. But when it comes to self-care, radical doesn’t always mean loud. It can mean quietly choosing yourself in a world that asks you to keep giving without pause.

Radical self-care could look like leaving the laundry undone so you can rest. It might be saying no without apology. It could be giving yourself permission to unplug from the constant noise and listen to your own breath.

This week, I invite you to journal on the question: What does radical self-care look like for me right now? Notice what rises up without judgment. The answer may surprise you—and it may change depending on the season you’re in.

Your rest is resistance. Your care is advocacy. 💛

🖊 Journal Prompt: What does radical self-care look like for me right now?

... Read moreRadical self-care is an empowering approach to wellbeing that invites us to put our needs first without guilt or apology. It's not about grand gestures; sometimes it’s about small, intentional acts like leaving the laundry undone or taking a moment to breathe deeply away from noise and distractions. This practice emphasizes that rest and self-kindness are critical forms of resistance in a fast-paced society that often demands constant productivity. Journaling can be a powerful tool to deepen your understanding of what radical self-care means for you personally. By reflecting on the question, "What does radical self-care look like for me right now?", you allow insights to surface without judgment. These answers might evolve with life’s seasons, whether you’re seeking more rest, setting clearer boundaries, or reconnecting with your body and mind. Incorporating radical self-care goes beyond physical rest; it also includes advocacy for your mental health. This holistic perspective aligns with trauma-informed care and mindfulness practices, which support healing and resilience. Connecting with communities interested in #SelfCare, #MentalHealthAwareness, and #HolisticHealing can provide additional encouragement and validation on this journey. Remember, your rest truly is resistance—choosing to care for yourself is a way of standing up not only for your wellbeing but also for a healthier community. Embrace this week’s journaling prompt as a daily reminder that your wellness journey is valid, and radical self-care is a vital form of empowerment and healing.
