Homemade Gravy

It’s Sunday and you’re making a roast with your favorites!!. You already started the roast, it’s all ready for the grand finale..Gravy!! But then…BAM💥!!!!

You don’t have a gravy packet or jar gravy or you don’t have enough gravy in the jar or packet and you don’t have a clue of how to make home made gravy!!! This recipe can also be used for chicken..

Well, here’s a simple recipe from ingredients that you already have on deck!! #homemadegravy #gravylovers #beefgravy #chickengravy #gravyfromscratch

Prep time: 6 minutes or less give or take,depending on how dark you want your gravy.

* 1 cup flour(preferably sifted to avoid lumps)

* 2 cups of water or beef broth

* 1 tbspn of cooking oil

* sprinkle of salt

* sprinkle of pepper

*** You can also chop up some beef/chicken bouillon cubes or beef/chicken packets from Ramen noodles for added taste. ..

*** You can also add other gravy on hand to add to the taste or to add to the amount you already have on hand.

1. In a large heated skillet, add the flour.

2. Brown the flour by stirring it back and forth for about 2-3 minutes or longer depending on how dark you want your gravy.

3. Add salt and pepper and about a cup of water/broth and continue adding water/broth until you reach the desired consistency, while stirring.

Twist it and turn it by adding onions or bell peppers and maybe even mushrooms for other dishes.

Once you learn it, you can’t unlearn it!!

:O Ive never seen gravy made like this. It doesn't have a strong flour taste? I thought you always needed to make a rue which is equal parts flour and whatever fat you want to use. I'd use butter here probably. You can toast that till it get whatever color you want and then add your broth slowly while whisking constantly so there's no lumps. Simmer while still stirring till it thickens up. Then season to your taste and serve. :)
