Truck Update #3
Changed out mirrors!! I bought a set of the 2014-2018 GM style aftermarket mirrors for a 99-02 Silverado, and swapped the mirror heads over to the mounting plates for the chrome mirrors that used to be on it. Had them paint matched at my workplace, and wired up the ford connector. Not a swap I see often, so I hope to inspire some people haha.
Upgrading the mirrors on your vehicle can transform its appearance and functionality. This project involves using aftermarket mirrors from a 2014-2018 GM model on a 1999-2002 Silverado, a unique swap that few attempt. In this article, we delve deeper into the aftermarket mirror selection process. When choosing mirrors, consider factors such as compatibility, style, and functionality. The 2014-2018 GM mirrors may offer modern features like built-in turn signals or heated glass that can significantly enhance your older truck’s user experience. Preparing the mirrors for installation requires a few tools and attention to detail. Additionally, proper wiring is essential for functionality, especially if you’re adapting connectors to fit your older model. Through this project, not only does the truck get a facelift, but it also offers opportunities for personal expression.
