I wasn’t just tired. I was disconnected.

From my joy.

From my body.

From myself.

Everything became about getting through the day.

Solving the next problem.

Taking care of the next person.

I didn’t laugh much. I didn’t feel much. I just… functioned.

Somewhere in that fog, I realized I couldn’t even answer the question:

“What do you need right now?”

That’s when I knew something had to shift.

So I started small:

• Sitting outside without a task

• Making food I actually liked

• Saying no without explaining

• Letting myself rest before I earned it

Slowly, I started to feel like me again.

Not all at once—but moment by moment.

If you’ve ever lost yourself in the chaos of keeping everyone else going—

Just know: she’s still in there. And she’s not gone.

Comment “still finding her” if this hit. You’re not alone.

... Read moreBurnout is more than just exhaustion; it can make you forget who you are. It often manifests as emotional detachment and a cycle of merely going through the motions, leaving little room for joy or self-care. To overcome this, start with small, intentional actions. For instance, take a moment to sit outside without any distractions, allowing yourself to be present in the moment. Cook meals that you love and prioritize your preferences. It’s also crucial to set boundaries—saying no without feeling the need to explain can be liberating. Moreover, give yourself permission to rest without justifying it. These seemingly simple steps help rebuild a connection with yourself, allowing you to slowly emerge from that fog of burnout. Remember, feeling like 'you' again is a gradual process, and with each small step, you're reclaiming your identity. If you resonate with the idea of losing yourself in taking care of others, know that your authentic self is still there, waiting to be rediscovered. Joining communities that understand this struggle can offer support, reminding you that many others share similar experiences. You are not alone in this journey; many are 'still finding' themselves amidst the overwhelming chaos of life.
