COLLEGE ADVICE

Starting college was one of the scariest times in my life, but now I wish I could start all over again!

The most important advice I have for incoming college freshman is that you only get out of college what you put into it (i.e. join that club and say yes to everything)!

Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and most importantly-BE YOURSELF! ⭐️📚🫂

... Read moreStarting college can feel overwhelming, but embracing the experience fully can transform those initial fears into exciting opportunities. Joining clubs and organizations is a fantastic way to meet new people and develop hobbies or skills beyond the classroom. Whether it’s sports, arts, academic clubs, or cultural groups, involvement helps build your network and enrich your college life. Applying for internships early on improves your career readiness and gives real-world context to your studies. Don’t hesitate to explore internships relevant to your interests—it can open doors for your future job search. Taking weekend trips offers a refreshing break from academic demands and allows you to explore new surroundings and create memorable experiences. Likewise, going out dancing or attending social events encourages building friendships and letting loose. Personalizing your dorm or apartment space by decorating it to reflect your personality makes it feel like a second home. Including cozy touches, fun posters, and photos can positively influence your mood and well-being. Experimenting with new foods broadens your palate and cultural understanding. College is a perfect time to try dishes you've never tasted before—whether in the dining hall or by cooking something special yourself. Most importantly, being yourself throughout your college journey builds genuine connections and helps foster confidence. Authenticity leads to meaningful friendships and opportunities that align with who you truly are. Remember, you only get out of college what you put into it—so say yes to new challenges and experiences with an open heart and mind!
