My workout split as a D1A collegiate dancer
Took so long to figure out my perfect workout split but here it is:)
As a D1A collegiate dancer, maintaining peak physical performance is crucial, requiring a well-structured workout split that balances strength, flexibility, and endurance. Incorporating a variety of exercises not only enhances muscle strength but also improves overall conditioning. For glute and hamstring days, focus on compound movements like hip thrusts and Bulgarian split squats. Back and biceps workouts are essential for posture and stability, so be sure to include cable pulls and bent-over rows. The chest and tricep routines, such as tricep dips and cable skull crushers, help build upper body strength that translates to better dance performance. For those cardio days, high-intensity intervals, whether running or stairmaster sessions, effectively boost stamina while decline weighted sit-ups strengthen your core, enhancing control during performances. In addition, always remember to include recovery periods and flexibility training in your routine, as they are vital for injury prevention and maintaining mobility. Tailoring your workout split to your needs as a dancer will ultimately support your performance and overall wellbeing.
