starting my fitness journey

i’ve struggled with my body image the past year. i’ve tried to workout but depressive episodes kept me from staying consistent. i was put on a new birth control pill last year and it caused me to gain weight and other issues. when i tried to talk to my gyno about it and possibly come off this pill because it was hurting me and not helping, she was gone and nowhere to be found. i had to stay on this pill for as long as i have and it has cause significant weight gain and eating issues. i did just get a new gyno and will be coming off this pill. i feel like posting my journey will help me hold myself accountable and keep me consistent. i’m excited to start this journey and see where it takes me. (this photo is not recent but before the significant weight gain. i haven’t been able to find a recent pic bc i stopped taking them due to not liking my body image.)

It’s important to acknowledge these struggles while searching for solutions that promote overall well-being. Engaging support systems—like new healthcare professionals—can play a crucial role in this transition. Along with appropriate medical guidance, creating a sustainable workout plan tailored to your needs is vital. Consider incorporating mental health practices, such as mindfulness and self-compassion, to help manage depressive episodes that may hinder consistency. Furthermore, sharing your journey on platforms like Lemon8 fosters accountability and connects you with others who share similar experiences. Embrace the journey with an open heart and a clear mind.
