For ages, I struggled to find a breakfast that was both quick and genuinely healthy, not to mention delicious. Then I stumbled upon this combo, and let me tell you, it's been a total game-changer for my gut health and energy levels. If you're tired of feeling sluggish or just want a yummy way to get those beneficial probiotics, you absolutely have to try this recipe. It's vibrant, thick, and so unbelievably yummy! Here’s what I toss into my blender to create this powerhouse: 1 ripe banana: I always use a frozen one! It makes the smoothie extra creamy and cool, almost like a milkshake. 1 cup fresh kale: Yes, kale! Don't be scared – the sweetness from the fruit completely masks its flavor, so you get all the nutrients without the "green" taste. 1/2 cup mixed berries: My go-to is a mix of blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries. They add fantastic color, natural sweetness, and a punch of antioxidants. Frozen berries are perfect for keeping it frosty. 1/2 cup high pulp orange juice: This adds a lovely tangy sweetness and helps with the liquid base. You could also use apple juice or even just water if you prefer less sugar. 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or a spoonful of probiotic powder: This is the star for gut health! I usually go for plain Greek yogurt for extra protein, but a good quality probiotic powder works wonders too. A splash of water or almond milk: Just enough to get things moving in the blender and achieve your desired consistency. *Optional additions I love:* A tablespoon of chia seeds for extra fiber and omega-3s, or a scoop of protein powder if I'm heading to the gym. Making this probiotic breakfast smoothie couldn't be simpler: Load it up: I start by adding the liquids (orange juice, yogurt, and any extra milk/water) to my blender first.
