Finally, Tempo’s story! Now, did I like how she did Sincere? No. However, will Sincere always be great in my eyes? Absolutely! He is genuinely a good person overall, and honestly, he ended up being my favorite character in this story.
Now, hear me out. I feel like this book focused more on everybody ELSE rather than Tempo. Yes, I expected to see everyone from the first three books make an appearance, but at some point, they started feeling more like fillers. And how do you manage to make Tempo feel like a filler character in HER OWN STORY?! Ma’am, make it make sense! 😂
Also, THANK YOU for finally getting your foot off Icon and Livia’s necks. They deserve a break! Let those people breathe. 😂
I will give credit where credit is due, though. That plot twist at the beginning? I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! I was genuinely shocked. I love when a book can catch me completely off guard.
Overall, the book was good. It just wasn’t my favorite in the series. I wanted more Tempo and less everybody else.

... Read moreAs a longtime fan of the Cartel series, I was eager to dive into Tempo’s story in "Cartel 4: Love In Perfect Tempo." One thing that really stood out to me was how the author managed to balance the ensemble cast while maintaining Tempo’s central role. However, I echoed the feeling that sometimes the other characters took center stage, which made Tempo feel less prominent than expected in her own narrative. It’s a tricky balance when a story involves many interconnected characters, but Tempo’s unique perspective deserves the spotlight.
Regarding Sincere, I agree he’s a genuinely good person who brings a lot of warmth to the story despite some controversial choices. Characters like him add depth and moral complexity, making the narrative richer. The surprising plot twist early in the book totally caught me off guard too—it’s moments like this that keep readers hooked and engaged.
Also, it was refreshing to see some breathing room given to Icon and Livia after their intense arcs in previous books. It added a sense of realism and allowed the story to shift focus without overloading on too many dramatic tensions.
For readers eager to get the most from this book, I’d recommend paying close attention to how the author layers the relationships between characters. The interplay between Tempo and the others provides subtle cues to their growth and the evolving cartel dynamics. Although Tempo might feel overshadowed at times, her story arc is woven into the broader tapestry, highlighting themes of loyalty, love, and empowerment.
In summary, while this installment may not be my absolute favorite of the series, it offers meaningful developments and surprises that keep the Cartel saga moving forward. If you love character-driven stories with unexpected turns and a mix of action and emotional depth, "Love In Perfect Tempo" is a worthwhile read.
