Tuna salad is one of my go-to meals when I need something fast, nutritious, and satisfying. What I love about this particular recipe is how easily you can customize the ingredients to your taste while keeping it healthy. For example, using Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise not only lowers the calorie count but also adds a creamy texture with extra protein. I usually start with three cans of tuna, which is a hearty amount for two people, then mix in diced tomato and half an avocado for creaminess and flavor. The addition of chopped onion, green chili, and fresh cilantro gives it a wonderful fresh kick. I sometimes add a splash of chipotle sauce for a smoky, spicy flavor, but it’s optional depending on your spice preference. To make it more filling, I mix in a cup of cooked pasta, transforming it into a complete meal. Alternatively, you can make a sandwich with hearty bread and crisp lettuce, adding cucumber slices and more tomato for extra crunch. This meal is perfect for those busy days when you want something that’s quick to assemble but still nutritious and delicious. What’s great is that this recipe suits different eating styles—whether you’re looking for a light lunch or something more substantial. It pairs well with a side salad or fresh fruit, making it an ideal choice for a balanced diet. Overall, this tuna salad hits the mark for flavor, health, and convenience, making it a staple in my weekly meal prep.
