what am I doing wrong?

has anyone used the car air fresheners from bath & body works? I got this one a couple months ago and it smelt really well for like the first day and then after that never again 😭 it turned brown super quickly which I figured it was from the sun but if it’s supposed to be on your vents how are you supposed to avoid the sun hitting it? has anyone else’s gotten like this? it was like this after like a week and just wastes all the liquid inside :/ I have a few more of the scents but why put them in if they’re just gonna turn brown and not produce the smell. is it something I’m missing?
