Personally, I think it’s a red flag when your partner has to approve the people you’re friends with. It’s one thing for them to share a valid concern about someone — that’s normal. But if it’s rules, restrictions or stuff like “you can’t hang out with them unless I say so,” that feels more like control.
the thing is though people are allowed to have boundaries. If your partner doesn’t feel comfortable with certain types of friendships, they can absolutely choose whether that’s something they’re willing to be in a relationship with. Just like you can choose what’s acceptable for you.
