What’s something you would tell your younger self?
Looking back, if I could share one piece of advice with my younger self, it would be to embrace difficult times as critical moments for growth rather than setbacks. Hard seasons test our strength, but they also build resilience and self-awareness. When you're going through tough situations, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and isolated. But knowing now what I didn’t then, these challenges are temporary and often lead to unexpected opportunities. I would remind my younger self to be patient, trust the process, and seek support rather than trying to navigate hardships alone. It’s also important to acknowledge and process emotions honestly. Bottling up feelings only prolongs pain, while expressing vulnerabilities can strengthen connections with others. I learned that leaning into community and honest conversations helped me heal faster. Most importantly, I would encourage my younger self to hold onto hope and keep a growth mindset. Every struggle eventually contributes to a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world. The lessons we learn become valuable guides for the future. Reflecting on the question, 'If you could tell your younger self one thing about the hard season you were in, what would it be?' invites us all to practice self-compassion and appreciate the journey that has shaped who we are today.
