Looking back on my early 20s, I realize how transformational it would have been to apply these lessons sooner. Protecting your peace first was something I struggled with especially when trying to maintain appearances or please others. I learned the hard way that your mental and emotional well-being must come before your reputation, because once your peace is broken, it’s difficult to recover. Another insight that changed my perspective is understanding the difference between being alone and being lonely. Being alone can be a beautiful opportunity for self-discovery, creativity, and healing. However, loneliness is a painful feeling that signals the need for genuine connection. During those times, instead of rushing into relationships out of discomfort or fear, I found it more fulfilling to trust the process and focus on deepening my relationship with myself and faith. This shift helped me avoid settling for unhealthy connections. Finally, I learned that not every lesson deserves a second chance. Some experiences, as painful as they may be, serve their purpose as lessons rather than ongoing chapters in our lives. Holding on to these chapters can trap us in repetitive cycles. Choosing to close certain doors without seeking closure was liberating and made space for growth aligned with my highest self. These lessons aren’t just advice—they’re tools that shaped my journey toward a more peaceful, focused, and intentional life.
