Budget 💵Meal Series: Grocery Shop w/me
Welcome or welcome back to the budget meal series! It feels really good to have my voice back and to be able to talk to you all. AnyWho, I was asked what would I buy…If I did not have a budget, so here it is. I really shop and budget exactly how I do in real life. I do not fake what I buy, what I eat, or what I spend. I have made it a lifestyle choice to plan my meals, and only spend what I need to at the grocery store. This week was very fun and thank you to the person that asked. Remember, you guys can always private message me or message in the comments anything you would like to see, and I will try to incorporate that into my videos. Thank you all for following me friends. Enjoy the grocery shop and the chitchat.🥰-Kia 💋
It's so exciting to be back with my budget meal series, and I love hearing what you all want to see! One question that comes up a lot is how I manage to save money on groceries without feeling deprived, especially when planning for family recipes. I've learned a few smart ways over the years that truly make a difference in my weekly "grocery run" and help me stick to my budget. First things first: meal planning is your superpower. Seriously, it's the biggest game-changer. Before I even think about stepping foot in the store, I map out all our meals for the week. This helps me create a precise shopping list, so I only buy what we need. This way, I avoid impulse purchases (those tempting treats by the checkout!) and minimize food waste, which is like throwing money away. I've found that planning around versatile ingredients, like a big pack of ground beef or a container of chicken broth, allows me to create multiple different meals throughout the week. Next, I always make sure to check the weekly sales flyers. It’s amazing how much you can save by simply planning your meals around what's on sale. If poblano peppers are cheap this week, you bet I'm finding a recipe that uses them! The same goes for proteins – if chicken is a good price, I'll stock up. Don't be afraid to try store brands either; often, they're just as good as their name-brand counterparts but significantly cheaper. For shopping inspiration by budget and categories, I like to think about what staples I need versus what fresh produce or proteins I’ll use that week. I categorize my list: produce, dairy, pantry, proteins. This helps me navigate the store efficiently and stick to my budget in each section. For example, if I know I need peppers, I'll check the price of bell peppers versus poblano peppers and choose the more budget-friendly option. Buying fruits and vegetables that are in season is another fantastic way to save, as they're not only cheaper but also taste better! The OCR results mentioning "What I spent" resonate so much with my approach – tracking those expenses helps me stay accountable. Finally, when it comes to budget family recipes, versatility is key. With ground beef, you can make tacos, chili, spaghetti, or even shepherd's pie. Chicken broth is perfect for soups, stews, or cooking grains. Don't underestimate the power of simple, homemade meals. A big batch of chili using ground beef and plenty of colorful peppers can feed a family for days, and it's much more affordable (and often healthier!) than takeout. I also love looking for recipes that can be easily doubled so I can freeze half for another busy weeknight. It's all about making your food work harder for your wallet! Give these tips a try, and let me know what your favorite money-saving grocery hacks are!
