Covington Georgia Tour!

Last year I took a trip to Covington Georgia for my birthday! Not only was it an amazing state to visit, it was extra special because of what took place here. The Vampire Diaries! There’s many many filming locations here in Covington, and many outside of covington as well. If you’ve watched TVD before, all these pictures should look familiar to you! I did my best to breakdown everything fun and all the must do’s!!

... Read moreMy visit to Covington, Georgia, for my birthday was truly unforgettable, especially as a huge fan of The Vampire Diaries! While the original article touched upon some fantastic highlights, I wanted to dive deeper into what makes this town a perfect getaway, especially for those looking to immerse themselves in a bit of TV magic and Southern charm. The heart of Covington is undoubtedly its Historic Square. This picturesque area, often seen in the show, is truly a step back in time. The famous Clock Tower, prominently featured in many scenes, stands majestically in the center, guiding your exploration. I spent hours just wandering around, admiring the beautiful architecture of the surrounding buildings. Many of these historic structures house quaint shops and eateries, offering a delightful experience. Don't miss exploring some of the lesser-known spots; the Alley Shop mentioned in my image captions is a hidden gem for unique finds, and boutiques like Shelviejean Boutique offer stylish local treasures. It's not just about the show; it's about soaking in the genuine small-town American atmosphere that makes Covington so special. For my fellow Vampire Diaries enthusiasts, visiting the actual Vampire Diaries filming locations was a dream come true. While walking past Elena's House (yes, the one at 2104 Floyd Street NE!), you can almost hear Damon calling her name. It’s truly surreal to see these iconic homes up close. And speaking of icons, a visit to the Mystic Grill is an absolute must! I tried their classic burger and fries, and it felt like I was dining right alongside the show's characters. The atmosphere is buzzing with fan energy, and the food is deliciously comforting. Beyond the main spots, make sure to pop into the Visitor Center. It’s packed with props from the show, including a replica of Damon's Car and the Original Mystic Falls Sign, making for fantastic photo opportunities and a deeper dive into the show's legacy. But Covington offers more than just TVD nostalgia. The culinary scene is surprisingly diverse. While Mystic Grill is a given, I also loved the casual vibe and delicious fare at Social Goat Tavern, where I enjoyed some fantastic tacos and fried chicken. For those looking for a bit of adventure, the Clock Tower Escape Room is a thrilling way to spend an hour, testing your wits right in the historic square. The town also hosts various events and even parades, giving it a vibrant community feel. Whether you're a die-hard fan or simply looking for a charming Southern town with a rich history, Covington, Georgia, is a destination that truly delivers. It’s a place where every corner holds a story, and every visit feels like coming home.
