... Read moreWhen attending a Padres game at Petco Park, I found that using the San Diego Trolley is a game-changer for avoiding downtown traffic and parking hassles. The Pronto app simplifies the process by allowing you to pay just $2.50 each way for the trolley ride, which conveniently drops you off near the stadium within about 15 minutes. This is much less stressful than hunting for parking spots in the busy Gaslamp Quarter. If you prefer driving, parking garages near the Gaslamp Quarter offer several options, but be sure to arrive early to secure a spot. Remember that parking restrictions are strictly enforced; for example, SPAWAR parking is off-limits and violators get ticketed. Combining trolley rides with a short walk is often faster and cheaper than circling around looking for parking. Additionally, using the Blue or Green Line trolley routes to the 12th & Imperial or Gaslamp stations is very convenient. From there, it’s a quick walk to Petco Park’s entrances. I’ve also discovered that engaging with local mobile apps like Pronto helps keep you updated about trolley schedules and available parking. My personal experience shows that planning your transit ahead not only saves money but greatly reduces pregame stress, letting you focus on enjoying the baseball action. Whether you’re a local or a first-time visitor, leveraging the MTS system and Pronto app makes your trip to Petco Park seamless and fun.
