3 cortisol morning habits that changed my energy
I didn’t realize how much my morning habits were messing with my energy until I learned about cortisol and how it naturally spikes after waking up. I was waking up anxious, reaching for my phone right away, drinking coffee on an empty stomach, and skipping breakfast if I was in a rush. It made my body feel like it was in a constant stress loop before the day even started.
Once I stopped trying to “power through” and started actually supporting my nervous system, I felt a huge difference. I started getting sunlight within 30 minutes of waking up, even if it was just sitting near a window. I make sure I eat something before caffeine, even just toast with peanut butter or eggs. And I take 2 minutes to either stretch or do a breathing reset before jumping into work.
These little changes have helped me feel calmer and more focused all day. If your mornings feel chaotic and draining, it might not be about doing more, it might be about doing things differently.
