Why I deleted Social media

... Read moreWe've all been there: scrolling endlessly, seeing perfectly curated lives, and perhaps feeling a pang of inadequacy or the constant need for external approval. That feeling of constantly needing validation, much like those 'seeking validation memes' we sometimes chuckle at, was a heavy burden on my shoulders. I realized that my online presence, instead of connecting me, was actually making me feel more disconnected and, at times, even taken for granted by myself and others. My decision to step away from most social media platforms wasn't a sudden whim. It stemmed from a deep realization about the 'time consumption' and the 'addictive nature of social media' that the OCR insight highlighted for me. I was pouring hours into apps, only to feel drained and anxious. The constant pressure to present a certain image, to chase 'likes' and comments, felt like an endless performance. I found myself feeling like 'people take me for granted' because I was so focused on external reactions rather than my own inner peace and relationships that truly mattered. I desperately needed a 'reload last checkpoint' for my mental and emotional well-being. Taking that leap and deleting social media accounts was challenging, but looking back, I can confidently say that 'deleting social media changed my life.' The immediate shift was palpable. The mental clutter began to clear, and I started rediscovering the 'value of a private life.' It’s incredible how much energy and focus you reclaim when you're not constantly thinking about what to post next, or how your life measures up to someone else's highlight reel. I learned to be 'more Present!' in every moment, truly savoring my daily experiences. This journey has led me to a healthier and happier state of mind. I'm no longer consumed by the need for external validation. Instead, I'm finding joy in authentic connections and simple moments. As the OCR also picked up, I found a 'deeper well In my relationship with Jesus,' which has provided an unshakeable foundation of worth and purpose that no online interaction could ever replicate. I've learned to truly 'appreciate real life and love' – the actual, tangible connections with friends, family, and even just the quiet moments of reflection. If you're feeling overwhelmed by the digital world, constantly chasing validation, or simply yearning for a more present and fulfilling life, perhaps it's time to consider hitting that delete button or taking a significant break. It might just be the most liberating decision you make.

I've finally ditched all my social media, except for Lemon8, and here's why: 1. Nothing felt real anymore—it was like living in a never-ending highlight reel. 2. The pressure to be perfect was overwhelming, and it was exhausting trying to keep up. 3. I was tired of seeing the same

Why I Deleted Lemon8
Because Lemon8 was advertised to me as a safe haven from these other forms of toxic social media my expectations were set up so high, and while I felt the way I did I have realized that most other apps are much much worse. I love posting and sharing content which is what has brought me back with th

Why I Deleted All My Social Media Accounts
I’ve never really been big on Snapchat, I’ve had that deleted for almost a year. I would scroll on instagram for hours on and off. I came to realize not only is it time consuming but pointless. You are literally on there to look into other peoples life’s and give hints about yours. It’s something t
