I’m sick of all this!
When I first encountered Tifa in Final Fantasy VII, I was immediately drawn to her. It wasn't just her incredible strength or her iconic fighting style, but something deeper. The way she stands up to Shinra, her unwavering loyalty to her friends, and her raw frustration – it all felt incredibly real and resonated with my own experiences as a teenager. There are so many times during those formative years when you feel like the world is against you, or that adults are trying to sweep important truths under the rug, just like Shinra tried to do with everything related to Jenova and their experiments. Tifa’s fierce refusal to let that happen, her determination to uncover the truth and fight for what’s right, has always been a huge source of inspiration for me. I remember feeling so 'sick of all this' when facing my own small injustices at school or with friends, and seeing Tifa battle against such massive, corporate evil made my own struggles feel a little less isolating. She’s not just a character; she's a reflection of that teenage experience where you're trying to figure out who you are, what you stand for, and how to fight for it. Tifa’s journey, especially after everything was rebuilt around her, yet the underlying corruption remained, mirrors the feeling of trying to navigate a world that doesn't always make sense or play fair. Her emotional depth and vulnerability, combined with her incredible physical prowess, show that true strength isn't just about being tough; it's about courageously facing your fears and demanding justice, even when it feels overwhelming. What struck me most was how she carried the weight of her past. Many teenagers grapple with past events, feeling misunderstood or having to confront harsh realities. Tifa's struggle to come to terms with her past, while also pushing forward for a better future for humanity, felt incredibly relatable. It’s a powerful lesson that even when things feel completely overwhelming, and you’re 'sick of all this,' finding your voice and standing firm can make a difference. She taught me that sometimes, you have to be the one to rebuild hope, even when others try to tear it down or hide the truth. Her story is a reminder that personal strength often comes from fighting for something bigger than yourself, and that emotional scars can be a source of incredible resilience.
