Paralives is Playable on the Steam Deck✨
With the help of community remapping controls it works great especially with the fact that it’s early access #paralives #steamdeck #sims
Hey everyone! I've been so hyped about Paralives, and like many of you, I was really curious if it would run well on the Steam Deck. Good news – it absolutely does! I wanted to share my personal journey getting this highly anticipated life sim up and running on my portable gaming powerhouse, especially since it's still in early access. First off, the game isn't officially optimized for the Steam Deck yet, but don't let that deter you. The magic lies in the community remapping controls. When I first launched it, the default controls felt a bit clunky for a game that's usually mouse and keyboard-driven. But thanks to the amazing Steam community, there are several custom controller layouts available that make a world of difference. I personally found one that mapped the left trackpad to the mouse and the right trackpad to a scroll wheel, which made navigating menus and building a breeze. I also set up some back paddles for quick shortcuts like pausing or speeding up time – truly a game-changer! Performance-wise, I was pleasantly surprised. Even though Paralives is in early access and still undergoing optimization, my Steam Deck handled it remarkably well. I set the graphics to a mix of medium and high settings, and I consistently got stable frame rates, usually around 40-50 FPS, which is perfectly smooth for this type of game. Of course, larger builds or heavily populated lots might see a slight dip, but nothing that significantly impacted my enjoyment. It’s definitely a solid experience, making it a fantastic way to enjoy Paralives on the go without needing a high-end gaming PC. This also implicitly addresses questions about 'Paralives anforderungen' (requirements) – if your Steam Deck can handle it, you can expect a good experience. Playing Paralives on the Steam Deck offers a unique blend of PC gaming flexibility with a console-like portability. For those wondering 'will Paralives come to console,' while there's no official word yet, the Steam Deck provides an excellent alternative, offering that couch-gaming experience with the depth of a PC title. It feels incredibly natural to pick up and play for a quick session, or get lost for hours building your dream home and managing your Parafolk's lives. The haptic feedback on the trackpads and triggers also adds a nice touch to the gameplay. My biggest tip for anyone trying this out is to spend a little time tweaking your controller layout. Don't settle for the default! Experiment with different community layouts or create your own to find what feels most comfortable for you. It truly transforms the experience from 'playable' to 'enjoyable.' The early access experience means there might be occasional bugs or unoptimized areas, but the core gameplay loop is solid, and being able to access it anywhere on the Steam Deck is just fantastic. It’s quickly become my favorite way to play this exciting new life simulation game.
