Things I miss since having a kid
I want to start off by saying I absolutely love being a mom and I don’t wish to be living my life any other way. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t miss a few things from my old life, because once you become a mom A LOT changes. So here are a few things I miss from my no kiddo days!
1. Sleeping!!!
2. My body will never look the same as it once did. I’m still working on loving and accepting my new body.
3. Alone time with my husband. Sometimes I miss when it was just the two of us, but at the same time nothing makes my heart fuller than watching him be an amazing father to our son. Also, we do get alone time every night when the baby goes to bed. Sometimes we’re just so exhausted from the day we don’t really want to do anything except sleep!
4. Going on trips with my girlfriends. I do miss how I used to be able to just go on random trips with my girls anytime we wanted. I’ve never been away from my son for more than a few hours, so even if I arranged it where he was staying with grandparents or with my husband, I don’t even want to be away from him! Maybe when he’s older I’ll feel different, but for right now it’s a no to any trips without him.

Becoming a parent is a profound transformation that brings both joy and sacrifices. Many mothers encounter a myriad of feelings after welcoming their little ones, including nostalgia for their past lives. Commonly missed aspects include the luxury of uninterrupted sleep, the carefree lifestyle enjoyed before kids, and spontaneous trips with friends. Aside from personal freedoms, many parents lament the loss of physical attributes. The journey to embrace the post-baby body can be challenging. Emotional aspects also play a significant role; couples often find themselves navigating relationship dynamics anew. While parents cherish their moments together, they may miss the intimacy they once enjoyed. Many mothers view these challenges as a normal part of the life cycle, reflecting on their experiences and adjusting to their new roles. They often engage in online discussions, sharing their journeys with hashtags like #MomLife and #StayAtHomeMom. Connecting with like-minded individuals can provide support and validation, highlighting that these feelings are shared by many. In the end, every parent learns that while they may miss certain aspects of life before kids, the joys and love that come with parenting far outweigh the sacrifices.

Yes to all of the above!!!
