if you want to get back at me, just sit me in a car and go around 1 roundabout 🫨🫨

I've always struggled with carsickness, especially when the car goes around a roundabout, which makes my nausea spike almost instantly. It’s something many people experience but don’t often talk about openly. Over time, I realized that the twisting motion and circular movement of roundabouts trigger my motion sickness more than straight drives do. One trick that helps me manage this is focusing on a fixed point outside the car, like a distant tree or a building, which stabilizes the sensory input and eases the dizzy feeling. I also try to keep fresh air flowing by slightly opening the window or using the air conditioner, as stale air tends to worsen nausea. In addition, chewing gum or sucking on ginger candies can help settle the stomach. If you find yourself always carsick during roundabouts or winding roads, try sitting in the front passenger seat where the motion feels less intense compared to the back. Planning your route to avoid multiple roundabouts can reduce episodes of discomfort as well. Sometimes, wearing acupressure wristbands or taking over-the-counter motion sickness medication before the drive can make a real difference. Understanding and anticipating your triggers is key. It’s okay to admit that something as simple as going around one roundabout can make you feel awful. By sharing my experience, I hope to encourage others to find what works for them so they can enjoy car rides without the dread of getting sick.
