The Most Flavorful Yellow Rice

This Golden Yellow Rice is fluffy, fragrant, and packed with warm spices! ✨ Turmeric, saffron, cinnamon, and garlic give it incredible flavor, while sweet raisins and toasted almonds make it extra special. It’s the perfect side dish for so many meals! 🍚

What You Need

✅ 1 Tbsp olive oil

✅ 1 small onion, diced

✅ 3 cloves garlic, minced

✅ 1 1/2 cups basmati rice, rinsed

✅ Pinch saffron threads

✅ 1 tsp ground turmeric

✅ 1/2 tsp kosher salt

✅ 1 tsp baharat (optional)

✅ 2 cardamom pods (optional)

✅ 1 cinnamon stick

✅ 2 1/2 cups chicken broth

✅ 1/2 cup golden raisins

Optional Garnish

✅ 1/4 cup chopped toasted almonds

✅ 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

1️⃣ Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.

2️⃣ Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.

3️⃣ Add rinsed rice and stir to coat.

4️⃣ Mix in saffron, turmeric, salt, baharat, cardamom, and cinnamon stick.

5️⃣ Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook on low for 20 minutes.

6️⃣ Sprinkle raisins on top, cover again, and let the rice rest 10 minutes off heat.

7️⃣ Fluff with a fork and garnish with toasted almonds and parsley.
