We’re on the go right now, which means I’ve had to adapt.
And yes… I’m having a sweet treat 🍰
Yes, I did want it.
But I’m also staying on guard.
I’m being mindful not to binge—and I’m determined not to.
I didn’t get here overnight.
This took time ⏳
It took spending a lot of time with the Lord 🙏
It took many 21-day fasts and our monthly fasts
It took intentionally keeping gluttony out of sight—and out of my life.
I’m determined not to let food rule me.
Even though I’ve been having a treat almost every day lately, I’m still not binging—and I praise God for that 🙌
That said, I know I need to stay close to the Word 📖 and stay on guard.
Someone recently asked me for tips on a water fast, and I told them two things:
💧 Know your why
💧 Drink a lot of water
And here’s my why:
I don’t want food to rule me.
I also know that if I were drinking more water, both physical and Spiritual, I probably wouldn’t be craving sweets as much 😅 I’ve not been reading as I’d like because of current temporary circumstances… But for today, I’m going with it.
This is for today. I’m actually making that 💧🌈🙏🏽 time as I post this!
Tomorrow, I’ll share how I even enjoyed a feast—a full-on dessert 🍮—and I don’t regret it one bit.
We’re going LIVE tomorrow 🎥
We’ll be talking about staying on guard, and I’d love for you to join us.
If you’re struggling with mindless eating, overeating, or binge episodes and want help from a biblical perspective, we’re here 🤍
✨ We have resources on our website
✨ We go live every Monday
✨ We do weekly weigh-ins in our Facebook group for accountability
✨ And we have a FREE digital Mindful Eating Journal
That journal helps you understand why you eat what you eat—not just if you’re hungry, but what emotion is behind it—so you can renew your mindset and make intentional choices.
“So that you may prosper in every way and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.”
📖 3 John 1:2
And let God bless your health 💛
Maintaining mindful eating habits while being constantly on the move can be challenging, but it’s absolutely doable with the right approach and mindset. One important lesson I’ve learned is the value of intentionality — being aware of why I choose to eat certain foods, especially treats, rather than eating mindlessly out of emotion or stress. In my experience, combining spiritual practices with practical strategies strengthens my ability to stay on guard. For example, regular fasting periods help me reset not just physically but emotionally, breaking the patterns of binge eating. These fasting routines, along with spending intentional time in prayer and reflection, have been instrumental in giving me strength and clarity. Hydration is also key. Often, cravings for sweets or snacks arise when the body is actually thirsty rather than hungry. Drinking ample water throughout the day helps curb unnecessary cravings. Spiritually, I view this as refreshing both my body and soul, allowing me to approach food with gratitude and balance. I also find tremendous support in community engagement. Participating in live discussions and accountability groups provides encouragement and practical advice. Sharing experiences with others who face similar challenges reminds me that mindful eating is a journey, not a destination. One practical tool that’s been a game-changer is the Mindful Eating Journal. It encourages me to pause and reflect on the emotions behind my cravings and eating patterns. This self-awareness helps me make intentional food choices aligned with my well-being goals rather than emotional reactions. If you’re on a similar path, consider integrating these habits: stay close to your personal source of strength, remain intentional about your eating habits, drink plenty of water, and seek community support. Remember, enjoying a treat doesn’t have to lead to guilt or binge eating — it can be part of a balanced, joyful lifestyle.
