A Different Question
For a long time, I thought peace would come when God changed the situation.
When the door opened.
When the relationship improved.
When the answer arrived.
When the burden lifted.
But some of the greatest lessons of my faith have happened while I was still waiting.
I have discovered that God's presence is not something I experience only after the breakthrough. His presence is available in the uncertainty, in the disappointment, in the unanswered questions, and in the ordinary moments I often overlook.
Sometimes God changes the situation.
Sometimes He changes me.
Sometimes He does both.
When I shift my focus from demanding answers to seeking His presence, I begin to notice that He has been walking with me all along.
The struggle may still be real.
The grief may still be real.
The waiting may still be real.
But His presence is real too.
Today, I am choosing a different question.
Not, "Lord, when will this change?"
But, "Lord, show me where You are in this moment."
Because I am learning that the greatest gift is not always an immediate solution.
Sometimes it is discovering that God was with me the entire time.
