“Follow the Shepherd… Not the Crowd!”
Psalm 23:1 ~
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Sheep aren’t known for their ability to navigate. Left alone, they wander. They follow noise instead of wisdom. They drift toward whatever catches their attention. Sound familiar?
Our world is loud. It tells us to chase success, compare ourselves to everyone else, hurry through life, and prove our worth. But the voice of Jesus is different. He doesn’t shout over the noise…He gently calls His sheep by name! 🙌🏼
The beautiful thing about following the Good Shepherd is that He has already walked the path ahead of you. He knows where the green pastures are. He knows where the still waters are. He knows which valleys are temporary and which paths lead to danger.
Your responsibility isn’t to have the whole map.
It’s simply to stay close enough to hear His voice.
Sometimes the safest place isn’t where everyone else is running…it’s right behind the Shepherd.
Today, before you make another decision, pause and ask yourself…
“Am I following the crowd… or am I following Christ?”
The Shepherd has never lost a sheep that stayed close!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Father, thank You for being my Good Shepherd. Quiet the voices that pull me away from You, and teach me to recognize Yours above every other. Lead me with peace, protect me with Your presence, and help me trust every step You ask me to take. I choose to follow You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🤍

Reflecting on the message of Shepherd Sunday, I have found immense comfort in realizing how often I get distracted by the world's noise and the pressure to conform. Like sheep wandering without clear direction, I used to chase after what appeared popular or successful, only to feel anxious and lost. However, embracing the image of Jesus as the Good Shepherd changed my perspective. When I started to intentionally pause and seek the Shepherd’s voice—through prayer, scripture, and quiet moments—I noticed a profound shift within me. The chaos that often pulls me away became background noise rather than direction setters. Psalm 23 has been a source of strength, reminding me that the Lord leads beside still waters and restores my soul. One practical step I’ve taken is creating a daily habit of reading a verse or devotional in the morning to center my heart on Christ before the day begins. This practice helps me listen carefully to the Shepherd amidst the many competing voices. I also try to assess if my choices stem from following the crowd or following Christ, which isn’t always easy but is deeply rewarding. In life’s valleys and uncertain paths, knowing that the Good Shepherd has already gone ahead assures me I am not alone. The understanding that fresh spiritual bread is found not by wandering aimlessly, but by sitting at the table He has prepared, encourages me to stay grounded in His presence. This journey is personal and ongoing, but the Shepherd’s guidance brings peace and hope in a world that often feels hurried and loud. If you find yourself overwhelmed by external pressures, take a moment to reflect: Are you following the crowd, or the Shepherd? Remember, the safest place isn’t always the easiest or most popular—it’s where He is leading you, gently and with love.
