Aldi Soups for under $15 🍜

I love a good soup and soup season is in full swing with all the snow/ice and freezing temperatures.

Prices based on my local Aldi in Southwest Virginia.

I don't count basic essentials like eggs, milk, spice towards total price.

Frito Chili Pie - brown ground beef. Add tomatoes, drained beans, chili seasoning packet, and 1-2 cans of water. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes. To serve layer chili, chips and warmed queso.

Serves 4-6 (leftover chili freezes great!)

Chicken Broccoli Cheddar Soup - Make soup according to package directions (I typically use half the packet for 4 servings). When done, add desired amount of chicken (I typically use half of the container for 1/2 of the soup packet) and 1/2-1 cup cheese. *If desired add a dollop (up to 1/2 cup) of sour cream or plain Greek yogurt for extra creaminess. Serve with additional shredded cheese on top and your fav gf bread. YUM!

Serves 4-8 (depending on the amount of soup you make)

Zuppa Tuscana - brown sausage. add bacon bits. season with onion powder. add broth, drained potatoes, and 2-4 handfuls of chopped kale. Bring to light boil and add can of milk. season with s/p. Serve with parm on top if desired.

Servings=6

*these meals are made to be gluten free friendly (as someone who avoids gluten but not celiac) may not be suitable for those with celiac or other specific allergies to wheat/gluten. Please educate and check labels before purchasing/consuming!

... Read moreAs someone who appreciates warm, hearty meals during chilly months, I found that shopping at Aldi offers incredible value without sacrificing taste or convenience. The soups shared here—Frito Chili Pie, Chicken Broccoli Cheddar, and Zuppa Toscana—combine simple, affordable ingredients that I often already have at home. When preparing the Frito Chili Pie, I love how the layering of chili, chips, and queso creates a satisfying dish reminiscent of a comforting classic, and the fact that leftovers freeze well means I can plan meals ahead to save time on busy days. For the Chicken Broccoli Cheddar Soup, adding sour cream or plain Greek yogurt really boosts the creaminess while keeping the dish rich and flavorful. I usually pick up the Happy Farms shredded cheese at Aldi because it melts beautifully and enhances the cheesy goodness. Zuppa Toscana's blend of browned sausage, bacon bits, kale, and potatoes is a fantastic way to enjoy a nutritious yet indulgent soup. Adding a splash of evaporated milk as suggested gives it a smooth texture and elevates the flavor profile. Using simply nature organic kale adds freshness and health benefits. I recommend seasoning with onion powder and salt & pepper gradually, as it allows you to tailor it to your taste perfectly. One key tip I’ve learned is to always double-check Aldi’s ingredient labels, especially if you’re avoiding gluten. While these recipes aim to be gluten-free friendly, cross-contamination or hidden gluten might still be a concern for those with celiac disease. Being mindful and informed makes a big difference. Overall, the affordability and quality of Aldi products make cooking these soups a pleasure, keeping meals warm, nutritious, and budget-conscious. For anyone looking to explore quick, easy, and cozy meal ideas this winter, trying these Aldi soups is definitely worth it.
