A big mindset shift that helped me was moving away from restrictive eating towards proper fueling. Eating to support training sessions enhances recovery and performance, proving more beneficial than simply aiming to look a certain way. The 'performance > aesthetics' approach encourages sustainable habits. If you're into lifting or bodyweight training, integrating varied disciplines and focusing on skill development makes your workouts exciting and keeps motivation high. Plus, you gain confidence from achieving new physical milestones, like handstands or improved lifts, rather than only judging success by appearance. Ultimately, skills-based training fosters a deeper connection with your body and creates lasting fitness improvements beyond the mirror.
