Things I wish I knew Before 30 lbs weightloss! ✨

If you’re on a weight loss journey with PCOS, or just starting out, let me share some real talk I wish I had known before embarking on this path. It’s been a wild ride full of victories, lessons, and the occasional “why didn’t anyone tell me this?!” moments. Let’s dive in!

1. Weight Loss is Just Half the Battle

Losing weight can help manage PCOS symptoms, but it’s not a magical cure-all. While shedding those pounds made me feel lighter and more energetic, I still face challenges like fatigue, hormonal fluctuations, and other PCOS symptoms. Weight loss is a step in the right direction, but it’s not the finish line—it’s more like the foundation for building better health overall.

2. Your Dream Figure Won’t Appear Overnight

I won’t sugarcoat it—losing weight feels amazing, but it doesn’t automatically sculpt your dream body. I quickly realized that the “jiggle” was real! Now, I’m shifting my focus to strength training and muscle-building to tone up. (Spoiler: this is also key for managing PCOS!) And don’t even get me started on skincare—I’ve learned glowing skin isn’t just a side effect of weight loss; it takes effort, too.

3. Protein is Your New Best Friend

If I could go back, I’d tell myself to take protein seriously. Building muscle and maintaining energy with PCOS means upping my protein intake—more than I ever imagined! From eggs and chicken to plant-based options, I had to educate myself on incorporating enough protein into every meal. It’s a game-changer for strength, energy, and that post-workout recovery.

4. Non-Scale Victories Deserve a Spotlight

The scale isn’t the only measure of success. Fitting into old jeans, doing push-ups with proper form, or hitting a new squat PR? Those moments are everything! They’ve kept me motivated on days when the number on the scale didn’t budge. Celebrate every victory, big or small—trust me, it’ll keep you going.

This journey isn’t just about weight loss; it’s about transforming your lifestyle, mindset, and body in ways that go far beyond numbers on a scale. If you’re on this path too, remember to show yourself grace and celebrate how far you’ve come—because you’re stronger than you know!

Let me know in the comments: what’s one thing you wish you’d known before starting your journey? Let’s share and grow together! ✌🏾

... Read moreNavigating weight loss with PCOS involves understanding its complexities. One crucial aspect is recognizing that weight loss is not a quick fix but a foundation for long-term health improvement. Often, individuals overlook the importance of strength training alongside cardio, which enhances muscle tone and overall wellness. Moreover, protein intake plays a pivotal role in energy maintenance and muscle recovery, making it essential for success and sustainability in your fitness journey. Social support is invaluable; sharing experiences with others facing similar challenges can provide motivation and encouragement. Engaging in community discussions about PCOS and weight management fosters a sense of belonging and camaraderie. Non-scale victories should be celebrated, such as better mood, increased stamina, and improved self-image. These milestones signify progress and motivate continued efforts toward healthy living. Remember, every step taken on this journey counts, and your experiences can inspire others too!
