For the kid in you who never thought you’d make it.

“Do it for the younger version of you who couldn’t.”

That line hits me hard because there were years where I didn’t think I’d get here. Years where I thought I wasn’t worth the effort, wasn’t strong enough to change, wasn’t ever going to be more than what life handed me.

But the truth is, I don’t show up for likes. I don’t show up because it’s easy or convenient. I show up because there’s a younger me who needed someone to prove it was possible.

That little kid in all of us—the one who felt overlooked, who carried shame, who thought they’d never belong—that’s the one I’m fighting for every single day.

And if you’re here with me, maybe you’re fighting for your younger self too.

I always say time is the most valuable resource on this planet. If you’re spending yours here, reading this, I don’t take that lightly. It means more than you know.

The voice in my head still tries to tell me, “Nobody likes you. Nobody cares.” But every comment, every message, every person who sticks around proves that voice wrong.

So thank you. For being here. For walking this road with me. For reminding me—and maybe reminding yourself—that we’re not doing this just for today. We’re doing it for the versions of us who once thought they couldn’t.

What’s one thing your younger self would be shocked to see you doing today? 👇

Autism representation in kidlit
Autism representation in kidlit is getting better every year, but there’s still a long way to go. I’ve seen more stories including autistic characters, particularly ones that move away from stereotypes. That’s great to see! But at the same time, a lot of these novels shy away from naming auti
