Honey BBQ Grilled Chicken
Honey BBQ Grilled Chicken
Ingredients
Chicken
* 2–3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 1 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1 teaspoon onion powder
* 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
* 1 teaspoon salt
* ½ teaspoon black pepper
Honey BBQ Sauce
* 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
* ¼ cup honey
* 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
* ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1. Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 350–400°F).
2. Pat the chicken dry and drizzle with the olive oil.
3. In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub the seasoning evenly over both sides of the chicken.
4. In another bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard (if using), and garlic powder.
5. Grill the chicken for about 5–7 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until it is nearly cooked through.
6. During the last 5 minutes, brush the chicken generously with the Honey BBQ sauce, turning and basting every minute or two. (Adding the sauce near the end helps prevent it from burning.)
7. Cook until the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F.
8. Remove from the grill and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
