Book series I dnf

6/17 Edited to

... Read moreAs someone who usually enjoys diving into popular book series, I found myself struggling with a few that many readers loved. One common issue I encountered was a sense of confusion. For example, in the 'Twisted' series, the narrative felt unclear to me, which made it hard to stay engaged. I stopped halfway through because I kept feeling lost rather than intrigued. Another aspect that affected my reading experience was repetitiveness. I remember the excitement with the first book being strong, but as the series continued, the storylines started to feel recycled. This pattern lessened my motivation to keep reading, as the freshness and originality I hoped for seemed to fade. Interestingly, I even went as far as buying the third book in a series I hadn't finished just to push myself to read more. However, the initial issues I faced like confusing storytelling and repetitive plots made it tough to continue. While these series — including works by authors like Penelope Douglas and Danielle Lori — have huge fanbases and critical acclaim, personal taste plays a big role. Sometimes, a book's style or pacing just doesn't resonate, and that's perfectly okay. If you find yourself stuck on a highly recommended book series, consider reflecting on what parts don't work for you. Is it the writing style? The plot development? Or perhaps character depth? Sometimes, taking a break and revisiting the books later offers a fresh perspective. Or, you might decide to move on to other genres or authors that better fit your reading preferences. After all, reading should be enjoyable, and there's a whole world of books waiting to be explored.

I was super bummed about DNF’ing all of these books 😭 most of them are super popular and everywhere in my feed!!! I have such a specific style of reading that I prefer. I’ve noticed that I tend to have a hard time reading books that are written by English/Irish/Scottish writers since they tend

my ADHD has been the cause of many dropped books lol. but now that I'm on medication I figure I could go through my dnf books and see if I actually like them after all. most of the time I drop a book it's bc I find something else that grabs my attention 🤭 so far I'm enjoying myself!

Books I wish I DNF’d ❌
This was before I knew how to DNF a book and… I wish I had with these. My main reasons were either the book was way too unrealistic for a thriller/unbelievable, not age appropriate or just straight up boring 🥱 No hate if you liked these! They just were my cup of tea and that’s okay! ✨
