Days 22-24: Stewardship of Creation/Relationships

Hey Friends! Here are days 22-24! Been a little under the weather, but turning a corner. Thanks for your patience!

This month’s focus is being a good steward. When I was studying spiritual disciplines the one area that really stood out to me was being a good steward. It was understanding that my life and the things in it do not belong to me. It is all from the Lord and he has made me a manager of these things. It's my job to manage it properly for his glory. Whether it is money, time, friendships, or my children….. All belongs to the Lord and he has given us authority over it for a time.

Each day there will be a challenge for you to evaluate how you are being a good steward in a specific area of your life. You will have a scripture to reference, a reflection question, and an activity to complete. As always grab you a journal and for this month also a planner/calendar. The journal is for writing out scripture or prayers daily. The calendar will be to help you in evaluating how your time is spent daily. If you don’t have a calendar, you can just create your own in your journal.

Ephesians 5:15-17, “Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is”

I am so excited for this challenge this month! I pray that this challenge helps me and you to be a better steward of the blessings the Lord has given us.

2025/2/25 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to dive deeper into what Christian stewardship truly means, especially since I've been reflecting on how it impacts every area of my life. It's more than just managing money; it's about recognizing that everything we have – our time, talents, resources, and even our relationships – are gifts from God, entrusted to us to care for and use for His purposes. It's a profound shift in perspective from ownership to management, understanding that we are simply custodians of His blessings. Let's talk about Stewardship of Creation. The challenge for Day 22, based on Psalm 8:6-8, really opened my eyes to our role as managers of Earth's resources. God has placed us in charge of His incredible world! This isn't just a passive role; it's an active responsibility. For me, fulfilling this means consciously choosing to spend time in nature, appreciating its beauty and learning from it. It could be as simple as a walk in the park, tending to a small garden, or even being mindful of our consumption habits. Day 23 took this further with Leviticus 25:23-24, reminding us that 'the land is mine; with me you are foreigners and strangers.' This verse truly emphasizes that Earth is God's property, and we are merely temporary residents. A practical way I've tried to live this out is by planting something – a small herb garden, a flower, or even participating in community greening efforts. It’s a tangible act of caring for what isn’t ultimately ours, but God’s. Then there's the equally vital Stewardship of Relationships, which Day 24 highlighted with Proverbs 27:17: 'As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.' This scripture beautifully illustrates how we're called to encourage others in their faith and personal growth. It's not about being passive friends or family members; it's about actively pouring into each other's lives. I've found that praying about supporting others, reaching out to offer a kind word, or just truly listening, can make a huge difference. Are we building up those around us, or are we letting those connections wither? This stewardship reminds me to be intentional about nurturing the people God has placed in my life, whether it's my family, friends, or even acquaintances. It's about seeing each person as a precious gift and investing in them spiritually and emotionally. Ultimately, understanding Christian stewardship means living a life of purpose and gratitude. It's about asking, 'How can I use what God has given me – whether it’s my energy, my talents, or my time – to honor Him and bless others?' This spiritual discipline truly has transformed how I approach my daily choices, from how I manage my schedule to how I interact with the world around me. It's an ongoing journey, but one that brings immense fulfillment and a deeper connection to God's plan for my life.
