The Hormonal Acne Beauty Routine that saved me!

It’s hard to have PCOS! You gain weight and not only that, you can have hormonal acne that is very difficult to treat.

This simple beauty routine is what saved me.

1. Apply DIFFERIN at night and a moisturizer. I use La Roche Posay Baume B5.

2. Moisturize and moisturize. It will help you with the dryness brought by any Tretinoin, adapalene or any acne treatment. I sometimes just put a lot of of La Roche Posay Baume B5 on my face alone cuz I feel my skin feels good after.

3. I apply the La Roche Posay Duo on the nights that I don’t put my Differin.

4. I only moisturize and apply sunscreen in the morning.#

PS: Once you use Differin, you will usually purge. It will go worse for some weeks before it gets better. But trust the process. Stick to it. You will see a difference in 3 or 4 months.

... Read moreHormonal acne, particularly in those with PCOS, can be challenging to manage. It often necessitates a consistent treatment regimen. Adapalene, the active ingredient in Differin, helps normalize skin cell turnover and reduce acne lesions. Users may experience an initial purging phase as the skin adjusts, but persistence can lead to improvement over time. Moisturizers like La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 play a crucial role in maintaining hydration, especially during the treatment phase. This barrier repair cream helps soothe and calm irritation, making it an excellent choice for users undergoing retinoid therapy. For best results, incorporate sunscreen into your morning skincare routine to protect the skin and enhance healing. Education on lifestyle factors, such as diet and stress management, is also vital in supporting overall skin health. Finding a balance between treatment and moisturizing is key to overcoming hormonal acne effectively. Stay informed on various additional treatments and consult with dermatologists to explore options such as hormonal therapies or prescription medications for severe cases. Consider joining online support groups or communities to share experiences and gather tips from others on similar journeys. Understanding that you're not alone can be empowering, and learning from different routines may help you discover what works best for your skin type.
