He’s Not Done

Acts 28:1–9

Al and I finally slept soundly last night — nearly 11 hours! It’s as if our bodies knew we were back on sacred ground.

The birds welcomed us with a song.

The mountains stood in their usual majesty.

The coffee was strong, the pups were sweet, and my love — steady as ever.

This morning’s devotional took me back to Paul’s story in Acts 28 — a chapter about healing, deliverance, and a Gospel that keeps moving forward.

Paul gets bitten by a snake and survives.

Then he heals the father of Publius.

And just like that — the story shifts… but never concludes.

The book of Acts ends almost mid-sentence.

No dramatic courtroom scene.

No final speech before Caesar.

Because the story isn’t over.

𝘞𝘦 are the continuation.

And as someone who’s walked a long road of healing — physically, emotionally, spiritually — I’ve learned that healing is holy ground.

It’s not just about survival.

It’s about surrender.

It’s about living in a way that invites the Kingdom to break through — one porch, one prayer, one plate of food, one choice, one chapter at a time.

Just as I finished writing those thoughts this morning, I looked up to see Al standing quietly at the porch railing — his gaze fixed far beyond the trees.

I asked him gently, “𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵?"

And with a deep, peaceful sigh, he simply said:

“𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜.”

That one word undid me.

Because sometimes it takes leaving a place…

to recognize what it cost to stay.

And sometimes it takes coming home…

to realize what we’ve been missing.

Back in New York, noise is the norm — cars, sirens, voices… all hours of the day and night.

But here? The loudest thing is the birdsong.

And maybe that’s the beauty of it.

Nature doesn’t compete.

It invites.

It steadies.

It heals.

And it reminds us:

Stillness isn’t empty.

It’s full of everything we forgot we needed.

🌳

Today, I’m thankful for:

☀️ Sunshine & simplicity

🐾 Morning cuddles with our pups

📖 The book of Acts — and the call to keep

it going.

Let’s live like the story isn’t finished.

Because it’s not.

And the Author is still writing… 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘶𝘴.

... Read moreThe book of Acts, particularly chapter 28, showcases pivotal moments where faith, healing, and divine intervention converge. Paul’s survival after a snake bite and his healing of Publius’ father illustrate the miraculous and transformative power of belief and grace. Although the biblical narrative ends abruptly, this unfinished story symbolizes that God’s work continues through those who live by His teachings. Healing, as reflected in the article, transcends physical recovery; it encompasses emotional and spiritual restoration. This holistic approach emphasizes surrender and openness to divine influence, aligning with contemporary Christian perspectives that view healing as sacred ground. The porch, metaphorically turned into a pulpit, represents a space of reflection and invitation for the Kingdom of God to manifest through simple, everyday acts—prayer, kindness, presence. Nature plays a vital role in this journey. The peacefulness described—where birdsong replaces urban noise—serves as a metaphor for spiritual stillness and renewal. Such environments allow for deeper communion with the divine and foster inner healing, a concept supported by numerous studies linking nature and mental well-being. The hashtags #HealingInProgress, #GodsNotDone, #PorchPulpit, and #StillnessHeals encapsulate the ongoing nature of spiritual growth and healing. They remind us that the story of faith is a living narrative, continually written through our actions and experiences. Embracing stillness is not emptiness but fullness—a space where God’s presence can be deeply felt and where healing can unfold gradually and profoundly. In modern life, with its constant distractions and noise, reclaiming moments of quietude and reflection is vital for spiritual rejuvenation. The author’s depiction of returning home highlights the importance of recognizing what has been missed amid life's busyness and appreciating the simplicity and sacredness of stillness. Ultimately, this reflection encourages readers to view their own healing and faith journeys as unfinished works of art. The Author, God, is still writing—through every prayer, moment of surrender, and act of love—inviting all to partake in the continuation of a divine story rooted in hope, resilience, and grace.

Jesus ❤️ let’s share what he’s done in our lives.
I’ll go first.. Jesus has completely delivered me from anxiety and depression. There was a time when I was on medication just to cope, feeling like I would never be free from the weight of it all. In my darkest moments, He met me with His peace and reminded me of His love and purpose for my life. T
