4: vitamin c ~ consume vitamin c rich foods or take a vitamin c supplement. This will help reduce inflammation & allergy reactions

5: essential oils ~ use essential oils in diffusers or showers to help relieve congestion and other allergy symptoms

6: anti-inflammatory diet ~ follow an anti-inflammatory diet which can help reduce allergies and improve your gut health

These natural remedies have truly transformed my allergy season, allowing me to finally embrace nature without dread. When it comes to local honey, I've found consistency is key. The idea is that by consuming tiny amounts of local pollen, your body gradually builds a tolerance, much like exposure therapy. I started with a teaspoon every morning in my tea about 6-8 weeks before spring officially hit, and I genuinely believe it made a noticeable difference. It's a sweet way to potentially reduce your body's overreaction to those blooming flowers! Prioritizing gut health has been a game-changer for my overall immunity, not just allergies. Beyond kombucha and Greek yogurt, I consciously incorporate fermented foods like kimchi and sauerkraut into my diet. I also focus on fiber-rich foods like oats, flaxseeds, and a variety of colorful vegetables to feed my good gut bacteria. A healthy gut means a stronger immune system, which can be less reactive to allergens. It’s amazing how much impact our diet has, especially when considering what to eat when you have allergies. The 'nasal do recipe' you might be looking for is essentially a saline nasal rinse, and it's a lifesaver! I personally use a Neti pot or a squeeze bottle with a pre-mixed saline packet, but you can also make your own with distilled water, non-iodized salt, and a pinch of baking soda (consult a doctor first if unsure).
