Got FUPA or Belly Fat? Read below 👇
I wish I could tell you there’s a quick fix, but there isn’t. I used to struggle with high blood pressure and was on meds for years because of my weight, poor diet, and lack of exercise.
What’s been working for me and my clients is eating to fuel your body, not just to get full.
Some of these quick dopamine hits we get pleasure from aren’t worth our long-term health.
We’re getting older, and it’s time to take care of ourselves. 💪

Dealing with FUPA or excess belly fat is a challenge many of us face, especially as we age and life gets busier. From my personal experience and working with clients, I’ve realized that sustainable change comes from developing habits that prioritize health over quick fixes. One key insight is to focus on eating for fuel—not just eating to feel full or satisfy cravings. For instance, I recommend filling about 70 to 80% of your plate with nutritious, whole foods, which helps avoid overeating and unnecessary calorie intake. Another often overlooked factor is alcohol consumption. Regular weekend drinking, while enjoyable socially, often adds empty calories that contribute significantly to belly fat accumulation. Cutting back or making healthier choices around alcohol can make a noticeable difference. It might even require reassessing your social circle to support your health goals—sometimes, new friends with similar health priorities can be a great motivation. Beyond diet, managing stress, staying hydrated, and incorporating regular movement play essential roles. Even simple daily walks or short workout sessions can boost metabolism and improve cardiovascular health, which is crucial for combating issues like high blood pressure. Remember, many chronic conditions linked to excess weight are preventable through lifestyle adjustments. Lastly, accountability is powerful. Whether through coaching, support groups, or trusted friends, having someone to encourage and hold you responsible can keep you on track when motivation wanes. It’s important to accept that there is no quick fix, but with commitment, the results are not just physical—they enhance your overall energy, mood, and quality of life. Taking care of your body is a lifelong investment that pays back in countless ways.
