Stewed Sausage and Tomatoes
Ingredients:
Smoked sausage
1/2 green pepper

Salt and pepper to taste
Whatever other seasonings you like. I used 1 tablespoon of Dano’s with the green top.
Steps:
1. Brown your sausage in a pan and then remove into a container.
2. Add diced onions and green peppers to the pan with the sausage fat and sauté for about 5 minutes.
3. Add minced garlic to pan with other veggies and sauté an additional 1-2 minutes.
4. Add the sausage back to the veggies.
5. Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce to mix. Fill the diced tomato can with water and add it to the mix.
6. Add salt, pepper, and whatever seasonings you’d like. Stir and let come to a boil.
7. Cover pot or pan, turn down your stove to medium low heat and allow to simmer for 30 minutes.
Enjoy with a fresh pot of rice ❤️

Stewed sausage and tomatoes is a comforting and versatile dish that combines the rich smoky flavors of sausage with the natural sweetness and acidity of tomatoes. Using 100% natural smoked sausage, such as beef or pork kielbasa, adds depth and protein to the meal. The dish benefits from fresh vegetables like green pepper and onion, which are sautéed in the rendered fat from the sausage to enhance flavor complexity. Minced garlic adds aromatic notes that balance the savoriness. Adding diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, along with water to fill the can, creates a flavorful stewing liquid that simmers for about 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld without overcooking the sausage. Choosing high-quality ingredients, such as natural pork casing smoked sausages and fresh, USA-grown tomatoes, guarantees a more authentic taste and nutritious meal. The recipe’s adaptability makes it ideal for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings. Seasonings like salt, pepper, and specific blends such as Dano’s with a green top label can be used to customize spice levels and flavor profiles. Serving this dish over steamed rice complements the sauce and balances the robust flavors, making it a complete comfort food. Additionally, this simple stew can be paired with crusty bread or cooked quinoa for variety. For healthier options, substitute sausage with chicken sausage or turkey sausage. Incorporating herbs like basil, oregano, or thyme can further enrich the stew. This recipe highlights traditional home cooking with easy-to-find ingredients and straightforward steps that any beginner or seasoned cook can follow. It exemplifies the best of simple ingredients creating hearty, satisfying meals, endorsed through verified natural ingredient selections and practical cooking techniques.

Thank you for this recipe. I had everything except the sausages. Just made & waiting on hubby to come be the tester. We had garlic twist instead of biscuits. Will let you know!
