Survived because of computer
A Reddit user came out to tell me a terrible incident after his PC Gaming probably saved his life from a gunshot that went through the bedroom wall in the middle of the night and hit the computer instead of continuing to where the owner was sleeping.
.
The owner of the post, which used the name angelbabyzz, stated that the incident happened while he was sleeping in his bedroom as usual before waking up from a loud explosion with a piece of glass from a broken computer case and splashing his face.
.
Arriving to investigate, it was discovered that a projectile had passed through the wall from the side apartment into the room and crashed into the Gamming PC located near the bed, resulting in heavy damage to the body.
.
According to the post owner, police officers investigating the scene indicated that the computer may have contributed to changing the trajectory of the bullet, preventing the bullet from continuing to the location where the owner was sleeping at the time. The post owner believed that without a PC, the bullet could hit him.
.
The cause of this incident came from a side room. Shortly after the incident, neighbors apologized for their shock and claimed that their dog had caused the accidental distillation of the gun. However, there has been no confirmation of what the exact cause of the distillation of the firearm was caused.
.
Despite the fact that there were no injuries, the authorities charged the firearm owner with criminal negligence and seized the related gun for inspection, while the neighbor's insurance company was expected to take over the damage and cleanup costs incurred. If the insurance was not covered, the neighbor indicated that he was willing to pay for the damage himself.
.
The PC damage section, based on an image published by the owner of the post, found that some of the internal devices were hit hard, especially the G.Skill DDR5 ram and the motherboard area that appeared to be directly in the line of collision.
.
While other parts of the hardware from the preliminary image assessment do not seem to have suffered much severe damage, the glass debris may need to be cleaned and checked before being reused. The glass case is so shattered throughout the bedroom that the owner needs up to three days to collect the glass debris from the area.
.
Initially, it was stated that the insurer offered a compensation limit of about US $3,500, or about a hundred thousand baht, for damage to equipment and cleaning.
.
Although this gaming PC was almost completely damaged, the Post owner viewed the computer damage as still minor, compared to the fact that the incident could have ended up much more serious had the bullet not hit the PC first.
