I took 2 Calculus Classes over the summer ðŸ˜
Would I do this again or would I recommend it? NO :) But now that I did it and got it over with, here are my thoughts. First of all, you’re probably wondering why I would subject myself to this. Well basically, I had to. If I didn’t want to be extremely behind in my Computer Science degree then I had to take all of the major math classes in one year including during the summer. Unlike smarter students I tested into College algebra in my math placement exam at the beginning of my degree, so that meant that I had a lot of catching up to do. If your high school offers advanced classes like Calc 1, 2, or 3 then you need to take those! Don’t wait for college to take those because they are a lot harder in college. I had to take Calc 2 and Calc 3 back to back during the summer, and they were 6 week accelerated courses. So we were FLYING through the material. The classes were 5 days a week 2 hours long and it was rough. Would I do it again though, yes I guess I would have to because it made it possible for me to be on track with my degree! But it wasn’t fun and I would suggest to anyone else, to just get your math classes done when you are supposed to (like in high school).

What is your advice for passing pre-calc(if you’ve taken) as well as Calculus? Also if you have sites or advice for learning and understanding coding languages(Python, Java..). I’m a new computer science major and overall have been struggling a bit. I just feel like I don’t have the best resources. And I know I’ll have Data Structures and everything coming soon so I’m really just trying to find my footing without becoming unmotivated because I know these things are achievable.
